beneath the realm of deceit & hatred
I was living in Berlin Germany when I created this series of mixed media works. I was an outsider and went through a period of intense loneliness in Germany. I was gambling at the Spielbank losing $5,000 a day. Thank God the casino in Berlin was only open for 12 hours a day. So when I wasn’t gambling, intoxicated or sleeping around I would create art. I grew up on the LES of NYC where Jews, Italians, Blacks, and Hispanics all lived together. So when I was in Germany I couldn't stop thinking about the holocaust. Not to mention there was a Neo-Nazi movement happening at the time with hate crimes against Africans. This series was my therapy so to speak my weapon of choice.
